Design starts with an idea. Scratch that–design starts with a plethora of ideas painstakingly developed, revised, and thrown out until that one perfect idea is left, refined and glowing in a designer's mind. Then, creative and physical life is breathed into that abstract idea through form and function.

 

Apart from a really great idea, what should one look for in design? Clarity of message. Consistency. Flawless execution. And, of course, it doesn't hurt if the end product takes your breath away.
